ML Sprint!
How many New Year’s Goals are you still on track?
Switching environments definitely BOOST my motivation & vibes!

和崔一起看了 Me Before You 前半段。
It’s 5 degree Celcius outside. “Damn.” In my head. Visuals Designer, with NO Background in Design, (Naval Ravikant, Adam Grant, Sean Puri…)
Financial freedom is: when you are given more money, you’ll be doing exactly the same thing you do every single day.
工作
Localization & Mapping:
What I did great
CM Branch contains “Merge Conflict” (<<<) so CMB cannot parse those file. Solution was to rebase their branch using “git rebase -X (strategy) theirs origin/develop.”
Land Altitude Validator autoFix PR. (Thanks Deev for the review!)
- 終於搞懂 Platinum Release 的 cycle,CMS Release is different from “CM Release”!
What I can improve on
- 還沒有時間 dig into why SLAM jobs failed.
- Boundary Orientations Disagreement – I should start looking into this issue.
Online Mapping
What I did great
Data Dumping Code Updates, Submit PR & Fix PR Comments.
- Understand the training codes better (How TFRecords are loaded using DataGenie, process using features and labels, pass to MappingHead (MapFormer), how loss functions are calculated.
- Complete loss function code changes.
- Working on “disabling context map mutations for real world data.”
What I can improve on
- Be brave to ask questions.
- Solve TF Autograph issue.
- 週四聽了 The Diary of CEO 採訪 James Clear (Author of “Atomic Habites”) 的 podcast,記下了以下幾個概念:
- Habits are both universal (we all need them) and individual (everyone has their own versions). That’s why people are interested in building habits.
- Your daily habits eventually lead you to your long-term visions (goals).
- Just follow the trajectory of your habits, you can predict where you’ll be in the next couple months / years.
- Obvious (Cue) → Attractive → Easy → Satisfying (Rewarding)
- Stacking habits on top of an existing habit.
- It’s all about getting started. Even if it’s so little.
- e.g. Going to the gym only for 5 minutes → Mastering the art of “showing up”.
- It has to be fun.
- Grit 恆毅力 := passion & Perserverance.
- You can’t have it all (at once) → how to prioritize?
- Figuring out which ones are the upstream of others?
- What habits would make your day a perfect day?
- e.g. Sleeping, Workout, Reading, Writing (Reflect,think)
- The four burners in life (stove)
- Life has lots of inflection point: having a kid, change jobs, move to a new city, …
- Habits change over time, so as systems. You need to review and optimize over time.
- 這週從週三開始,突然靈機一動:應該善用公司的 Gemini Pro,請他幫我『開始』安排一個 10-Day Machine Learning Sprint – 從 Regression, MLP, NN, CNN, RNN, Transformer (GNN), RL, Generative Models(GANs), Diffusion Models, LLMs &VLMs, VLAs, Multi-modality, The Future of ML。雖然我寫每天40分鐘的時間,顯然非常不夠 XD 但現階段我想做到的是 “Mastering the art of Showing Up” – just like what James said.
“Absorb what is useful. Discard what is not.
Bruce Lee
Add what is uniquely your own.”
這週還有一個喜歡的 quote: “Fall in love with the process and the results will follow” – Bradley Whitford.
Remember how you feel after today’s morning run: I appreciate my ankle, body, my bed, the water, the house.
Live a fun life, see you next week!
Ciao
